A square bet is a bet on four numbers at the same time, where you put your chip on the centre of the square that forms around those four numbers. There are many more ways in which you can bet, including basket, street, top line and more, but when you are start learning how to play, the most important types of bets you should note are red or black. You can choose to split your odds, giving yourself a 50/50 chance of winning by picking either red or on black, but note that your win will be quite small if you happen to pick the right colour.

Throughout history there have been many who have tried to predict the outcome of the game of roulette. Many of these were engineers or mathematicians who tried to base their predictions on the mechanical workings of the roulette wheel. Needless to say, many of them failed.
